Farrow & Ball Wallpaper
Inspiration
Take a look at our carefully curated selection of ten Farrow & Ball wallpapers. With designs ranging from maximalist florals to simple, delicate stripes, there is plenty of inspiration to be found in a wide variety of colours and patterns. With a coordinating colour palette to match each of the ten wallpaper choices, finding the right look is easy.
Helleborus
This maximalist design, which is Latin for the hellebore flower, is one of the largest motifs in Farrow & Ball’s wallpaper collection. Each bold petal feels as though it is unfurling on the wall, having first been drawn with a pipette for fluidity. The organic patterns in Helleborus hint at growth and rejuvenation, transforming your home into a warm, wonderful retreat. I’ve created a relaxed colour scheme by pairing a classic navy blue with blue/grey and soft grey/green, which works perfectly with this stunning pattern.
Shouchikubai
The Japanese word 'Shouchikubai' refers to the 'Three Friends of Winter': plum, pine and bamboo. Their ability to withstand the cold makes them symbols of strength, beauty and longevity in the Far East. Contained within hexagonal frames, these botanical motifs bring a graceful pattern to all sorts of spaces, and the addition of gold highlights brings a touch of glamour. My palette of soft blush pinks and two classic muted greens is timeless, creating a wonderfully relaxing scheme.
Aranami
The 'raging waves' of the Aranami print draw inspiration from kirie, the intricate Japanese art of paper cutting. Clean and precise yet fluid, Farrow & Ball’s marine-inspired pattern is dynamic yet calming, mimicking the ebb and flow of the tides. I’ve paired this wallpaper with a classic mid-tone grey-blue and a darker navy blue accent to complement the Aranami colours. Complete the look by adding warm Scandi grey neutrals or a crisp white for maximum contrast.
Petal Stripe
Charming in its simplicity, the delicate and elegant Petal Stripe design suits both classic and contemporary spaces. Handcrafted in Dorset, this charming floral wallpaper is made using two shades of Farrow & Ball paint. If you are looking for a soft, warm, muted colour scheme for your bedroom, look no further - these colours, together with the wallpaper, are perfect! Warm, red-based neutrals and mid-tones with a hint of pink. Finally, pair with this earthy green/brown for a darker accent within your space.
Adelaide
Adelaide is one of five patterns unearthed at Château de Purnon and brought to life by Farrow & Ball - collectively known as The Purnon Papers. This unique floral design takes inspiration from a smaller-scale pattern found in the dressing room of Adelaide, the daughter of the family who built the French château. Reimagined as a larger, bolder design, Adelaide still has a delicate charm. Use this soft, muted palette of mid-tone greens, and dark blue/green accent to complement this striking wallpaper.
Ocelot
A modern classic, Farrow & Ball’s small-scale leopard print wallpaper is both eye-catching and timeless. The additional gold highlights give it a luxurious feel and printed with richly pigmented paint, the organic pattern feels wonderfully tactile. I’ve used a soft, subtle colour scheme to complement the wallpaper, pairing warm grey neutrals with a darker shade of deep, warm grey. These analogous colours sit next to each other on the colour wheel and, when combined, create a warm, sophisticated look.
Achard
This geometric pattern is named after the noble family who built the aforementioned château and inspired many beautiful papers. This particular wallpaper was uncovered in one of the less grand spaces: the linen press. You can see how charming and versatile it is, though. I wanted to combine pink and classic Farrow & Ball blues to create a palette that would be perfect for a dressing room, bathroom, or child's bedroom.
Shouchikubai
As previously mentioned, 'Shouchikubai' is the Japanese term for the 'Three Friends of Winter': plum, pine and bamboo. Their ability to withstand the cold makes them symbols of strength, beauty and longevity in the Far East. This blue colour scheme offers a darker interpretation than the earlier palette. In this Farrow & Ball scheme, I have used three shades of blue alongside warm Scandi neutrals. The blues range from dark to light, and soft neutrals complete the look.
Lotus
Inspired by Art Nouveau, Farrow & Ball’s Lotus design brings a touch of 19th-century elegance to both traditional and contemporary homes. Each sweeping bloom is printed with Farrow & Ball paint to create a sense of movement and tactility. This neutral colour board, with an underlying grey-taupe tone, is a timeless classic. The warm, contemporary colour scheme has a muted, moody feel. Add a dark accent with the purple-black shade on painted furniture or woodwork.
Atacama
Drawing inspiration from a vibrant swatch discovered in an old fabric mill, this whimsical tropical print embodies the essence of escapism. Much like the flowering South American desert it is named after, Atacama features rich textures to explore, prickly cacti to discover and an intricate botanical design. This vibrant colour scheme does not necessarily need to dominate your space. Try balancing the vibrant avocado green of this playful wallpaper with the timeless aged blues of Farrow & Ball.
